Gallery Talk with a Conservationist

April 27, 2024

IMMC welcomes world-renowned wood conservationist Dr. Mostafa Sherif of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh as he shares his expertise on the analysis and conservation of IMMC's historic Moroccan Masjed (Mosque) Door. 

Dr. Sherif will be joined by IMMC's Deputy Executive Director and Chief Curator, Lina Ali as they engage in live conservation of the artifact during the Gallery Talk.

French-Tunisian artist eL Seed blends the ancient art of Arabic calligraphy with modern mural painting in public spaces, known as calligrafiti, to portray messages of peace and humanity. This film focuses on the artist, his creative process, and the community work he does across the globe.
